The most beautiful expression of love in a book. The book opens with a mother holding her infant son and rocking him back and forth while singing this song:

"I'll love you forever,
I'll like you for always,
As long as I'm living,
my baby you'll be."

The book takes you through the life of this child and the stages of life. For instance, "the little boy grew...Sometimes his mother wanted to sell him to the zoo!" And to the adult son who is called to his mother's bedside because she is getting old, where he sings the song to her.

The book ends with the son holding his new baby daughter and while he rocked her he sang:

"I'll love you forever,
I'll like you for always,
As long as I'm living,
my baby you'll be."

Recommended for ages 4-8, this book is for every child and every parent. When my children were in their teens, I gave them each a copy for Mother's Day. I chose to reassure them that my love for them was just as strong as the day they were born, no matter what was going on in our lives.

It's the first day of kindergarten and there's a squabble over who will have the book; then the blocks and so on. Through each squabble the perky high spirited teacher exclaims, "We share everything"...until they all start sharing their clothes; and then the teacher almost faints.
Children will understand this message and have a good hearty giggle in the meantime.

Will Amy get out of bed? It doesn't appear that she will. She is sleeping soundly, surrounded by her comic books, and is just unawakeable (after a night of TV).

Her parents solution? Take Amy to school in her bed.

"What's this?" asks the principal. "This", says Amy's father, "is Amy".

You will have to read the book for the ending. Wonderful humor, colorful and action packed illustrations make this book a treat.
